Biotech tropicana Systems

Health

HEALTH

Our health technology  program considers both Infectious and Non-infectious Diseases.

Infectious Diseases:
infectious diseases related alternative technologies at Biotech tropicana, Inc focus on HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis.

HIV/AIDS:
As part of its contribution to the global war on HIV/AIDS, Biotech tropicana, Inc is developing  a serie of HIV patients monitoring alternative technologies:  SMARThivTechs.Components of the SMARThivTechs include:
SMARThivCD4mos: We reduce cost of a simple CD4 counting technology to make it accessible to resource-poor settings.
SMARThivVLmos: A simple and low cost viral load measurement system that overcomes the sensitivity barrier of the P24 viral load technology.
SMARThivDRmos: A simple and low cost drug resistance monitoring system. SMARThivDRmos reduces complexity by transferring complex steps to computer execution, and reduce cost by obviating sequencing requierments using DNA hybridization methods.

The SMARThivTechs are designed for use in hospital settings, "SMARThivPack", OR, for use in remote areas through system incorporation into a motor vehicle: "The Mobile Life Box".

SMARThivGLOBALmos, is a global coordination cost and complexity reductions model for transferring HIV patients monitoring technologies to resource-poor settings.

“SMARThivTechAssess”: is a computerized user-friendly technology assessment tool that relied on simple “read and plug in rules”, for reducing cost and complexity in technology transfer processes, to resource-poor settings.

“The Three Unknowns Equation for HIV Patients Monitoring Laboratory In The Resource-poor Settings”, is a discussion platform question addressing strategies to implement individual-centered three tests, for monitoring HIV patients in resource-poor settings.

Malaria
Early stage malaria projects focuse on the use of Bacillus thurengensis sp in malaria prevention in resource-poor settings.

Tuberculosis
Early stage tuberculosis projects are exploring strategies to improve simple and low cost tuberculosis diagnostic tools for the resource-poor settings.

 NON-Infectious Diseases:
Early stage projects at Biotech tropicana, Inc are exploring strategies to introduce large scale production chains of essential therapeutic proteins in resouce-poor settings, using recombinant DNA technology. The applicability of recombinant DNA technology to large scale production of essential therapeutic proteins was previously demonstrated with "insulin", a protein involved in the metabolism of sugar, its deficiency was proven to be linked to Diabetes milletus.
